The Fight and Solution

In 2022, Chicago has seen more than 630 homicides. Some say what is needed is ban on assault weapons and an increase in mental health services. Up to date according to CPD data, more than 3,300 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year. Maybe the cause is widespread trauma that has been unaddressed in our city’s, especially young black men. Our young black men are living with so much pent-up pain, confusion, and anger which in turn affects their relationships and ability to process emotions which escalating to acts of violence. Is it getting better or worse? Are community organizations doing enough? Is the church doing enough? Are our politicians doing enough? Are you as an individual doing enough? What can we do individually that can collectively make an impact in fighting this epidemic?
